How We Rank Companions

Each companion is evaluated on Fishing Power bonus (primary weight), sea beast utility, acquisition difficulty, Training Ground scaling, and synergy with high-tier rods.

Event-exclusive units receive a rarity bonus but do not automatically dominate — a farmable Epic can outperform a poorly optimized Legendary from an event egg.

S Tier — Must-Have Companions

S Tier companions combine top Fishing Power with combat utility. Invest Gems and Rerolls here first. Train them at the Training Ground immediately after rebirth unlocks.

Watch our events page after patches — new event units can reshuffle the meta overnight.

  • Companions with the highest confirmed Fishing Power bonuses.
  • Hybrid fishing + combat units for sea beast encounters.
  • Legendary units obtainable through standard summons or Event Eggs.

A & B Tier — Solid Alternatives

A Tier units excel early-to-mid game and remain useful even when eventually replaced. B Tier units are situational — good for specific quests or as placeholders until an S Tier pull.

Never discard a B Tier if it is your only companion with meaningful Fishing Power. Progress beats theoretical rank every time.

Lower Tiers — When to Skip

Low-tier companions without significant Fishing Power bonuses are not worth Rerolls or intensive Training Ground investment. Keep them for basic daily quests until you pull a replacement from summons or eggs.
