Rod Rarity Tiers

Rods follow rarity tiers similar to companions — common starter rods access basic fish pools while legendary rods unlock endgame species and sea beast encounter rates on advanced islands.

Rod tier affects available catch pools and reward values, not minigame difficulty. Skill and companion Fishing Power still determine whether you land difficult catches.

When to Upgrade

Upgrade your rod once companion Fishing Power plateaus at your current island tier. If you are catching the same fish repeatedly without rare spawns, a rod upgrade likely unlocks the next pool.

Balance rod spending with companion summons — both multiply fishing income. New players should summon one companion before their first major rod purchase.

How to Obtain Rods

Rods come from in-game shops, wheel spin prizes, event rewards, and occasionally codes. Check the events page for limited rod drops during celebrations.

Some rods are island-specific — explore each location on our islands guide for vendor locations.
