Casting Your Line
Approach a valid fishing spot — marked water areas on each island — and interact to cast. Your rod tier and companion Fishing Power determine which fish species appear in the bite pool. Better equipment does not make the minigame easier, but it unlocks access to higher-value catches.

Yank Points — Spam Click Phase
When a fish bites, Yank Points appear on screen. Rapidly click or tap these points before they disappear. Missing yank points reduces your starting reel advantage and makes the next phase harder.
On PC, use your mouse button. On mobile, tap quickly with your index finger — some players use two fingers alternating for faster input. This phase rewards speed, not timing precision.
Reel Tension Management
After yank points, hold your click or tap to reel the fish in. A tension bar tracks line stress — typically shown as a red danger zone. Reel aggressively when the bar is safe, and release or reduce pressure when it enters the red zone to prevent line breaks.
Legendary and sea beast catches extend this phase significantly. Patience beats frantic reeling. Watch the bar rhythm — many fish have pulsing tension patterns you can learn after a few catches of the same species.
How Companions Boost Fishing
Equipped anime companions passively increase Fishing Power, which affects catch rarity pools and reeling forgiveness. Higher-tier units from the tier list provide larger bonuses. Level companions at the Training Ground to amplify these effects.
